On the same day, combine a trip to the Jozani Forest with a visit to a spice farm and Stone Town City on this private full-day tour. You’ll start with a guided tour through Jozani Forest also known as Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, is the only national park on Zanzibar Island. Home to all sorts of flora and fauna, including red colobus monkeys. You’ll then head to Jambo Spice Farm, where you’ll see, touch, and smell all sorts of local spices right where they’re grown. Then, finish your day by exploring Stone Town City – The UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Cultural Arts Centre of East Africa.
The Driver will come to pick you up from the Hotel, then start driving to Jozani Forest. During a guided tour through the Jozani National Park, guests will experience the red colobus monkeys, impressive trees and plants, magical world of the Zanzibar mangroves while walking along the wooden trail. This tour is combined with a visit to the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly and see them flying in close proximity. After you have explored Jozani National Park, your guide will take you to Spice Farm. The Spice Tour is one of the most popular excursions in Zanzibar, Spice Island. It got its nickname as a result of being one of the world’s leading producers of spices such as clove, nutmeg and cinnamon in the 19th century. Spices and herbs were originally introduced to Zanzibar by Portuguese traders in the 16th century, brought from their colonies in South America and India. This tour is a walking tour in a spice farm (shamba). While there, you shall see how the spices, herbs and fruits grow and are cultivated. Your tour guide will describe how the crops can be used. You will be smelling and tasting spices, herbs and tropical fruits such as clove, lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, vanilla, coconuts, papaya, chili, black pepper, jackfruit, cardamom, cassava and oranges.
See the National Museum of Zanzibar (rebuilt in 1883) and the Arab fort while passing along bazaar streets towards the famous Freddie Mercury house. See the old slave market, fruit market, and spice market — don’t miss the classic Zanzibar curved doors decorating the stone town.
